Situated on the scenic St. Lucie River, the Cashel Estate is a charming home as well as a beautiful example of the Florida “colonial manor.” The house was built in the 1922, during The Gilded Age, by prominent American architect Horace Trumbauer for energy industry magnate Martin Malone. Trumbauer was already famous for grand structures as the George W. Elkins Mansion and the George F. Tyler Mansion in Pennsylvania, the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and he would go on to design several buildings at Duke University and the main library at Harvard.
